About

Use to moisturize, soften, calm, and improve the appearance of skin by making it silky smooth, glistening, and supple.

  • Made with certified organic body butters, beeswax, and coconut MCT oil.
  • Contains skincare power houses Rosehips and Propolis (honey bee resin).
  • Helps minimize the appearance of scars and brightens tattoos.
  • Rejuvenates dull skin to looking shiny and healthful.
  • Thick, nourishing moisturizer smooths and hydrates skin.
  • Absorbs quickly and won't stain clothes.
  • Certified Cruelty Free by PETA.
When the Lotion Bar is picked up and warmed by the hands or skin, the essential oils and butters are released and can be gently massaged into the skin and absorbed like any lotion. Beeswax seals in all of the emollients. A little bit goes a long way and leaves skin soft all day.

For this reason, the lotion bar is unprecedented as a smoothing moisturizer for dry cracked or chaffed skin. It won't come off on fabric or paper and you can wash your hands several times without having to re-apply the lotion bar.

Honey bee logo valhalla spa organicsPropolis (Our Beekeepers Secret!)
  • The Bee Resin (Propolis) is a nutritious, powerful antibiotic, antiviral, and antifungal agent that sanitizes the interior of the hive and has been used by humans throughout millennia for its natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory qualities.
  • The word propolis is derived from Greek, in which pro stands for “for/or in defense” and polis for “city,” which means this natural product is used in defense of the hive (1 Ghisalberti, 1979).
  • Propolis also contains 21 different flavonoids and antioxidants to help control free radicals. It is high in B-complex vitamins and contains vitamins C, E, and provitamin A. It is rich in amino acids, fats and minerals such as zinc, manganese, copper, and iron.

Organic Rose Hip (Rosa rubiginosa) Oil

  • Rosehip Oil comes from the seeds of the rosehip plant and is high in vitamin C, which has antioxidant properties that have proven to have  beneficial effects on skin cells such as:
1) Increased wound healing and dermal synthesis
2) Healthy collagen synthesis (a vital molecule for skin health)
3) Promoting the synthesis of barrier lipids helping with dry skin
4) Helping your skin cells prevent/treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photo-damage (i.e., wrinkles and skin cancer) plus so much more! (2 OSU, 2017)
  • Proven to reduce the appearance of scars and improve skin discoloration (3 Valeron-Almazan).
  • Is rich in antioxidants (4 Lin, 2018) that can help fight inflammation and reduce the severity of eczema (5 Shabykin, 1967).

Organic Shea Butter

  • Comes from a natural fat obtained from the seed of the Karite tree, Butyrosperum parkii, found in Africa. Its butter has been used for eons as a superfood and a cosmetic to soothe skin and improve hair.
  • Is an emollient (softener and moisturizer) that has a long history of medicinal use for wound care, burns, eczema, stretch marks, scars, and improving rough/dry skin.

Organic White Beeswax

  • Is the purified wax from the honeycomb of the honey bee, Apis mellifera.
  • As a natural source of antioxidants, beeswax is touted as having anti-aging properties that address free radical damage. It shares the antibacterial benefits of honey, not only fighting breakouts but also minimizing the growth bacteria and yeast. It also contains vitamin A that is required to boost cell turnover to reduce blemishes.
  • Anti-inflammatory agents help with expediting wound-healing, reducing scarring, and soothing itching and irritated skin.

Organic Cocoa Butter

  • Has been used for eons (3,000 years) as a topical treatment for its potential skin and hair benefits. It rejuvenates dull hair and skin to looking shiny and healthy again and can reduce the appearance of scars.
  • Is the primary ingredient in chocolate. It is obtained from the roasted cocoa bean seeds of the Theobroma cacoa tree.

Coconut Oil

  • An ancient oil with 4,000 years of history documenting its healing properties on every area of the body and mind in Indian Ayurvedic medicine.  The oil is obtained from the kernels of the seeds of Cocos nucifera tree.
  • Research has shown it can reduce inflammation, stop the damage caused by free radicals, and help prevent infection, among other things (6 Evangelista, 2013).

Organic Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (MCT Coconut Oi)

  • Are compounds made from coconut oil, also known as medium chain triglycerides or MCT oil for short. It is silky and light to the touch, absorbing into the skin easily.
  • Used as both a superfood and a cosmetic ingredient because it is full of antioxidants that can help fight aging and has both antibacterial/antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties (7 Shilling, 2013).

Pomegranate All Natural Fragrance Oil

  • The fragrance oil is all natural with a wonderfully sweet and fruity pomegranate scent. It will not disappoint!

Cetyl Alcohol

  • A gentle fatty alcohol used as an emollient (smooths skin) to prevent drying and chapping of the skin because of its water-binding property. It is derived from coconuts and is considered safe and non-toxic. It has many uses as a food additive and in all kinds of cosmetics from lipstick to shampoo.

Tocopherol

  • Also known as Vitamin E. Vitamin E has been considered an anti-inflammatory agent in the skin and it has been shown to protect skin exposed to UV damage from excessive skin wrinkling.
  • Vitamin E is an integral part of the skin’s antioxidant defenses, primarily providing protection against UV radiation and other free radicals that may come in contact with the epidermis.
